Anushka Sharma is an Indian model, actress, and producer. She has established a career in Hindi films and is one of the most popular and highest-paid actresses in India. She became known for her roles in Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi in 2008 and Ladies vs. Ricky Bahl in 2011. In 2010, she appeared in the comedy film Band Baaja Baaraat.
Anushka has established her name in the Bollywood film industry within very short time. She is an actress who acted in highest grossing movies PK and Sultan. She is the recipient of numerous accolades, including one Filmfare Award from seven nominations. She has appeared in Forbes India’s Celebrity 100 since 2012 and was featured by Forbes Asia in their 30 Under 30 list of 2018.
Early Life of Anushka Sharma
Anushka Sharma was born on May 01, 1988, in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh Her father, Colonel Ajay Kumar Sharma, is an army officer, and her mother, Ashima Sharma, is a homemaker. Anushka’s has an elder brother, named Karnesh Sharma.
Anushka raised in Bangalore and studied at Army School. She enrolled at Mount Carmel College and received a degree in Arts. Anushka was aspired to be a model or journalist never had the intention to be an actress. After graduation, she moved to Mumbai to build up a career in modeling.
Career of Anushka Sharma
Her first acting role was in Aditya Chopra’s Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi (2008) opposite Shahrukh Khan. The film was a huge success and her performance was appreciated.
Her second film, Badmaash Company, also under Yash Raj Films, was released on May 7, 2010. She was praised for breaking out of the shell of the conservative and homely Taani to play the feisty and independent Bulbul, and her performance was applauded.
Later in 2010, Sharma completed her three-film contract with Yash Raj Films by starring in Band Baaja Baaraat, a romantic comedy directed by Maneesh Sharma and co-starring debutant Ranveer Singh
In addition to the film career, she was also known around the Indian subcontinent for her love relation with famous cricketer Virat Kohli. The couple married in Italy on 11 December 2017.
On 27th August 2020, Sharma and her husband Virat Kohli have announced that they are expecting their first child arriving in January 2021.
