Floyd Mayweather Jr.

Floyd Mayweather Jr. is an American retired boxer. He is best known for being undefeated throughout his boxing career. He was a five-division world champion. He won twelve world titles and the lineal championship in four different weight classes. He is regarded as one of the best boxers of all time. He generated more money in Pay Per Views than anyone else.

Floyd Mayweather Jr. was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan on February 24, 1977. He was born into a family of boxers. His father, Floyd Mayweather Sr., was a former welterweight title contender. He grew up only wanting to box. He grew up with his grandmother. He was brought up in a poor upbringing. At the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta, Mayweather won a bronze medal by reaching the semi-finals of the featherweight (57-kg) Division. Mayweather had an amateur record of 84–6. Mayweather fought his first professional bout on October 11, 1996. He has defeated the likes of Manny Pacquiao, Zab Zudah and Oscar De La Hoya.

Mayweather appeared on the fifth season of Dancing with the Stars; his partner was Ukrainian-American professional ballroom dancer Karina Smirnoff. On October 16, 2007, Smirnoff and Mayweather were the fourth couples to be eliminated from the competition, finishing in ninth place. He defeated Big Show at WrestleMania.
