Anupam Kher

Anupam Kher is a famous Indian film actor. He appeared in about 500 Bollywood films as comic, villainous and many other roles. In fact, many regard him as one of the greatest actors of India for all time. He also appeared in many Hollywood movies.

Anupam Kher born on 7 March in 1955 in Shimla. His family was a Kashmiri Brahmin of origin. His family was not so wealthy. He slept many times in a railway platform. However, he studied in D A V school in Shimla. He graduated from Himachal Pradesh University.

Anupam Kher first appeared in 1982 film ‘Aagman’. He acted in ‘Misaal’ in 1985, ‘Tezaab’ and ‘Jakhmi Aurat’ in 1988, ‘Ram Lakhman’ and ‘Taaqatwar’ in 1989, ‘Hum’ and ‘Dil Hai ki Manta Nahin’ in 1991, ‘Hum Aapke Hain Koun’ in 1994, ‘Dilwale Dulhaina Le Jayenge’ in 1995, ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’ in 1998, ‘Kya Kehena’ and ‘Kaho Naa Pyar Hai’ in 2000, ‘Veer Zaara’ in 2004, ‘Rang De Basanti’ and ‘Chup Chup Ke’ in 2006.

Kher achieved international recognition by acting in ‘Bend It Like Beckham’ in 2002, ‘Speedy Singhs’ in 2011 and ‘Silver Linings Playbook’ in 2012.

He maintained the post of Chairman of Central Board of Film Certification for many years. He was one of the founders and Chairman of Indian School of Drama. Critics often give him the credit for being one of the leading personalities of Indian performing arts. He won national film award in 1989 and 2005 for films ‘Daddy’ and ‘Maine Gandhi Ko Nahin Mara’. He achieved the Padma Shri award in 2004 and the Padma Bhushan in 2016.

In personal Life, Anupam Kher and Kirron Kher are a famous star married couple. Kirron Kher is an honorable Member of the Indian Parliament. This two stars appeared together in Hindi film ‘Total Siyapaa’ in 2014.
