Buzz Aldrin is an astronaut. He is one of the most famous persons in the modern history of earth. He is credited as the second man to walk on the moon. He was a member of the Apollo 11, along with Neil Armstrong.
Buzz Aldrin was born January 20, 1930. He was born as Edwin Eugene Aldrin Jr. His parents were Edwin Eugene Aldrin Sr and Marion Gaddys. His dad was a military man. He went to the United States Military Academy at West Point, New York. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineer. He was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the United States Air Force. Buzz Aldrin served as a jet fighter pilot during the Korean War. Aldrin was chosen for the crew of Apollo 11. He and commander Neil Armstrong was the first people to land on the moon on July 20, 1969. He was the second person to walk on the moon. He also became the first person to pee on the moon. He was the first person to hold a religious ceremony on the Moon. On many accounts its stated that he resented not becoming the first person to walk on the moon. Armstrong hold that feat.
Buzz Aldrin married three times in his life. He 1st married Joan Archer. His 2nd marriage was to Beverly Zile. His 3rd marriage was to Lois Driggs Cannon. He has three children from his first marriage with Joan Archer. He has suffered from depression and alcoholism. He supports the Republican Party. He was deeply saddened by the death of Neil Armstrong. Buzz was his nickname growing up. He legally changed his name to buzz later in his life.
