Somlata Acharyya Chowdhury generally known as a Bengali singer from West Bengal, India. She is also a lecturer of psychology. Firstly, she worked as a playback singer in Tollywood films. Somlata also has her own solo albums now. Moreover, she has a band also.
Somlata Acharyya Chowdhury, born in an erstwhile zamindars family. Her father Shyamal Acharyya Chowdhury is from Mymensingh, Bangladesh. Her mother is also from Noakhali, Bangladesh. She started her training in Indian classical music from her childhood at age nine under Pandit Biresh Roy.
She is a very talented and also a successful singer of the 20th century. Her first debut as a playback singer in the movie named “Perfect Woman(2007)”. Her first solo album was “Chupkotha(2009)”. “Ami Achi Er Majhe(2014) and “Mor Bhabonare(2016)” are some of her solo albums. She also share her voice in movie named “Cross Connection(2009)”, “U-Turn(2010)”, “Ranjana Ami Ar Asbo Na(2011)”, “Seven Days(2011)”, “Bedroom(2011)”, “Dutta Vs Dutta(2012)”, “Mach MIshti and More(2012)”, “Bojhena Se Bojhena(2012)”, “Amar Ami(2014)”, “Half Serious(2013)” etc. She also has a band named “Somlata and The Aces”, and they appear in many live performances.
In her personal life, she got married on 23rd November 2012 with Akash Roy.
