Udit Narayan is a famous Indian playback singer. He sang huge songs for a lot of Hindi films in Bollywood. He also sang for a lot of films of other languages in India. In fact, he is one of the greatest singers in India for all time.
Early Life
Udit Narayan born on 1 December in 1955 in Bihar, India. He completed his school in Bihar and intermediate in Kathmandu, Nepal. He loved music from his childhood. Udit started his musical career by singing at Radio Nepal. He sang many popular Nepali and Maithili songs. After that, he moved to Mumbai to study classical music. Rajesh Roshan, a famous composer offered him to sing playback for one of his films in 1980. Certainly, he was successful at that job. After that success, he sang for several other films which won huge popularity. He got a chance to sing with legendary singers Mohammad Rafi, Lata Mangeshkar and Kishore Kumar. After that, his popularity grew so much that he didn’t have to look backwards. As a matter of fact, he sang about 30000 songs for many Hindi films.
Udit Narayan sang for many famous composers like A. R. Rahman, Laxmikant Pyarelal, Anu Malik, Viju Shah, R D Burman, Bappi Lahiri, Usha Khanna and many others. He sang many duet playback songs with Alka Yagnik, Anuradha Paudwal, Lata Mangeshkar, Asha Bhosle, Sadhana Sargam and many others. He sang for many films like ‘Hum’, ‘Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak’, ‘Phool aur Kaante’, ‘Aashiqui’, ‘Ram Jaane’, ‘Taal’, ‘Dil Se’, ‘Lagaan’, ‘Kaho Na Pyar Hai’, ‘Koi Mil Gaya’, ‘Bade Miyan Choten Miyan’, ‘Pyaar Ishq Aur Mohabbat’ and many others.
Udit Narayan achieved many film and musical awards. He won the National Film Award for three times and Filmfare Award five times. He won the Padma Shri in 2009 and Padma Bhushan in 2016.
