Ebba Tove Elsa Nilsson, better known by her stage name Tove Lo is a Swedish singer and songwriter. She was born and raised in Djursholm, a suburb north of Stockholm, where she graduated from musical magnet school Rytmus Musikergymnasiet. Her debut single was titled “Love Ballad” and she followed that with her singles “Out of Mind” and “Habits.” Before that, she was in a band called Tremblebee for a short amount of time.
Ebba Tove Elsa Nilsson was born on 29 October 1987 in Stockholm, Sweden. Her mother is a psychologist and her father is a businessman. She has one elder brother.Her lifelong nickname and adopted stage name, Tove Lo, was given to her at age three by her godmother because of her love for lynxes.
Lo gradually developed her own idiosyncratic style of epic, electronically tinged songwriting with raw, brutally honest lyrics, influenced as much by ’80s pop as by contemporary EDM. In 2012 she self-released her debut single, “Love Ballad,” a catchy, beat-driven pop track that showcased her powerful voice.
