Shailene Diann Woodley is an American actress. Shailene Woodley is primarily known for being a bankable child actress. When Woodley was four years old she began commercial modeling. Her first major role was as the main character, Amy Juergens, in the ABC Family series The Secret Life of the American Teenager (2008–13). Woodley gained commercial success when cast as the protagonist, Beatrice “Tris” Prior, in The Divergent Series co-stars with Theo James and as Hazel Grace Lancaster in The Fault in Our Stars (2014). She was nominated for a Young Artist Award for her early performance in A Place Called Home opposite Harrison Ford. Woodley’s critically-acclaimed performance opposite George Clooney in 2011’s most talked about indie has propelled the actress to stardom and plenty of starring roles, such as in “The Spectacular Now” (2013) and “White Bird in a Blizzard” (2014).

Shailene Woodley was born in San Bernardino County, California, to Lori (Victor), a middle school counselor, and Lonnie Woodley, a school principal. She grew up in Simi Valley, California. She has one brother, Tanner. She was educated at Simi Valley High School in California. Her parents divorced when she was fifteen years old.
