Rohit Gurunath Sharma is an Indian cricket player. Rohit is also the captain of IPL team Mumbai Indians. Sharma currently holds the record for highest individual score in One Day Internationals. He scored a record 264 off 173 balls against Srilanka on November 13, 2014. Rohit is also the only player to score two double centuries in One Day Internationals. He is also the only person to score 250+ in ODI innings.

Rohit Sharma was born on April 30, 1987, in Maharashtra. He was born to Gurunath Sharma and Purnima Sharma. He speaks fluent Telegu. He came to prominence after a wonderful 2006 U-19 Cricket World Cup.

He scored the highest number of runs in that tournament. India lost to Pakistan in the finals. He made his ODI debut for India against Ireland in Belfast. He scored an unbeaten 50 against South Africa in 2007. During his early career, he was a finisher. Rohit Sharma finished a lot of innings with the legendary Sachin Tendulkar.
