Riteish Deshmukh (or Ritesh Deshmukh) is an Indian film actor, producer, and architect who mainly appears in Bollywood films. He is known for his work in Hindi and Marathi cinema. Riteish is considered one of the best comedians and a promising actor in Bollywood. He is the son of the late politician Vilasrao Deshmukh and Vaishali Deshmukh. His father Vilasrao Deshmukh was the former Union Minister for Science, Technology and Earth Sciences, Government of India, and the former Chief Minister of Maharashtra.

Riteish Deshmukh was born on December 17, 1978, in Latur, Maharashtra. He has an elder brother named Amit and a younger brother named Dheeraj, both of them are politicians. Riteish completed his education from GD Somani High School and Kamala Raheja School of Architecture. After his graduation, he worked in New York City with an architectural firm along with studying acting course at The Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute. After returning from New York he started a firm called Evolutions, an architectural and interior designing firm.

Riteish debuted with K. Vijaya Bhaskar‘s Tujhe Meri Kasam (2003) as Rishi with his later to be wife Genelia D’Souza, but it was not until 2004 that he achieved success, when he appeared in the commercially successful comedy, Masti and the critically acclaimed Bardaasht. His work in Masti was nominated for several awards, including the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actor category. He later starred in successful films such as Heyy Babyy, Dhamaal, House Full, Double Dhamaal, Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya, Housefull 2, Humshakals and Ek Villian. He appeared in Malamaal Weekly and Apna Sapna Money Money apart from Bluffmaster! with Abhishek Bachchan in the lead.

In January 2013, Riteish made his debut as a film producer with the Marathi success Balak Palak, directed by Ravi Jadhav. The following year he made his acting debut in Marathi cinema with the action film Lai Bhaari. He co-starred with Amitabh Bachchan in the 2007 Hindi drama, Rann.

Ritesh was very close to his father and was shattered at his death; he withdrew from the social world, including the social network. It took him almost a year before he was ready to talk about him with the media.

Riteish got married to Genelia D’Souza on February 3, 2012. They first met at the set of Film ‘Tujhe Meri Kasam‘. Their first son, Riaan, was born on 24 November 2014. Their second son, Rahyl, was born on 1 June 2016.
