Phillip LaDon Phillips Jr. is an American singer-songwriter who won the eleventh season of American Idol on May 23, 2012. Prior to trying out for American Idol, he also auditioned on the second season of America’s Got Talent but did not make it to its finals. He was nominated for a Billboard Music Award for his album The World from the Side of the Moon, which was released in November 2012.
