Parambrata Chatterjee is a very known face in Tollywood. He is an Indian Bengali film actor and a director. Parambrata is one of the most promising actors in Tollywood right now. He also worked in some Bollywood movies with famous Vidya Balan. He mostly does art film and also films about new thinking.

Parambrata Chatterjee was born in Kolkata, India on 27th June 1980. He is the son of Satinath Chatterjee and Sunetra Ghatak. He is grand-nephew of legendary filmmaker Ritwik Ghatak and nephew of Mahasweta Devi who was a well-known Bengali writer at her time.

Parambrata Chatterjee, complete his school life in Dolna Day School and then Patha Bhavan Kolkata. He completed Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in English literature from Jadavpur University. He also got his Masters in Film and TV production from Bristol University, Bristol, UK.

Parambrata Chatterjee is very successful in his both acting and film direction carrier. He started his acting career (role name: Babai) by a film name “Hemantar Pakhi(2002)” released in 2002 and directed by Urmi Chakraborty. After that, in 2003 he got a chance to act with Vidya Bala. It was Vidya’s debut film Bhalo Theko(2003). Then he acted a role name “Topshe” in most of the films based on a character “Feluda”. “Bombaiyer Bombete(2003)”, “Tintorettor Jishu(2008)”, “Jani Dekha Hobe(2011)”, “Jiyo Kaka(2011)”, “Kahaani(2012)”, “Hemlock Society(2012)”, “Hawoa Bodol(2013)” etc are some of his film where he acted.

He also has a good career in directing. His first directed movie was Jiyo Kaka(2011). This film also starred Raima Sen and Rudranil Ghosh. Jiyo Kaka(2011) released on February 11, 2011. He also directed Hawoa Bodol(2013), Lorai etc.

Parambrata Chatterjee won “Bengal Film Journalists Association-Most Promising Actor Award in 2006. He also received “Rituparno Ghosh Memorial Award” for “Hawoa Bodol”. Most of his film are somewhat different from other mainstream or commercial movies.
