Nachiketa Chakraborty is a noted Bengali music composer and singer-songwriter who is known for his modern Bengali lyrics and natural mode of singing. He has also worked in Bollywood. He achieved fame in the early 1990s, with the release of his debut album Ei Besh Bhalo Achi, when the private albums had just started to flourish in Indian music industry.. He co-composed the songs of Bollywood film Omkara, aside Vishal Bhardwaj. He is associated with Bengali music and has also released a few popular albums.

Ke Jay, Ki Hobe, Chol Jabo Toke Niye, Kuasha Jokhon, Ami-E Pari, Dolchhut, Daybhaar, Ekla Choltey Hoy, Mukhomukhi, Ei Agune Haath Rakho, Amar Kotha Amar Gaan, Tirjaak, Ebar Nilanjan, Hawa Bodol, Sob Kotha Bolte Nei, Asomoy, Drishtikon, Swapner Shohor, Shomoyer Danai etc are his solo albums.

Early Life:

Nachiketa Chakraborty, fondly called Nachi was born in Kolkata on September 1st, 1964. He started composing and performing as a student of Maharaja Manindra Chandra College in North Kolkata, Shyambazar, an affiliated college of the University of Calcutta.

In 1993 his first album Ei Besh Bhalo Achi was released; it was an instant hit. At the initial stage he had a huge youth fan following, but gradually he has touched listeners from all age groups. The colloquial language immediately hit the stagnancy of Bengali music in the early 90s. Following the path of Kabir Suman (the then Suman Chattopadhyay), Nachiketa changed the age-old concept of Bengali lyrics.

During his early ages, most of his compositions were youth-oriented and had a huge fan following crowd among youngsters. Now, he is a very famous singer and songwriter and composer from the city of joy. His songs are truly touched by many people’s lives.

Gradually he composed all types of music and earned appreciation from people belonging to all age groups.
