One of Hollywood’s most talented and versatile performers and Primetime Emmy® Award-winning actor, Laurence Fishburne, is best known for his roles of “Morpheus” in The Matrix, science fiction film trilogy which was released on 1999.

Laurence John Fishburne III was born on July 30, 1961  at Augusta, Georgia to Hattie Bell (Crawford) and Laurence John Fishburne Jr.. His mother was a junior high school mathematics and science teacher and his father, a juvenile corrections officer. Fishburne’s parents were divorced when he was a kid. Hattie Bell transplanted her family to Brooklyn after divorce.

He is an American actor, playwright, director, and producer.

Fishburne completed graduate from Lincoln Square Academy in New York. He joined his first job on portraying Joshua Hall on the ABC soap opera One Life to Live in 1973. Made his big-screen acting debut in 1975 in Cornbread, Earl and Me. Back in Hollywood by the late ’70s, he continued playing small supporting roles in features and on television. Even at the height of his film career, Fishburne has always maintained a link to the stage and TV.

He changed his name from Larry to Laurence in his films in 1991.

He married to actress Hajna O. Moss in 1985 in New York. The cupple have two children. Son – Langston born in 1987 and Daughter – Montana born in 1991. The couple divorced in the 1990s. Fishburne then married to Cuban-American actress Gina Torres on September 22, 2002. They have a daughter Delilah, born in June 2007.

Laurence Fishburne's daughter, Montana Fishburne, is an adult film actress. Her stage name is "Chippy D".
