Laura Marano

Laura Marano is an American actress and singer who stars in the Disney Channel series Austin & Ally as Ally Dawson. She was born on November 29, 1995, in Los Angeles, California, USA. Laura is the younger sister of Vanessa Marano. Her father is of Italian origin. Her mother has English and Irish ancestry.

Marano’s first acting role was when she was five years old. After that, she worked for multiple productions at the Stage Door Theater. She has also appeared in numerous commercials and had small roles on Ghost Whisperer, Medical Investigation, Huff and Joan of Arcadia. Her bigger roles in television have been in Without a Trace and other shows. She also played the child role of Keira Knightley‘s character in the film The Jacket and had a small flashback role in the film Superbad. She was a regular cast member on the FOX game show, Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader? and played the role of Gracie Carr on FOX’s sitcom Back to You.

Her first film, produced by George Clooney and Steven Soderbergh, was called The Jacket (2005). She starred with Oscar-winning actor, Adrien Brody. She has worked on Judd Apatow‘s film, Superbad (2007) and starred in the short film, Goldfish (2007).

In August 2013, Laura Marano became a UNICEF ambassador. In August 2014, Marano was also an ambassador for the Disney and Birds Eye Vegetables campaign ‘Step up to the plate‘.
