Actress Kalki Koeclin

Kalki Koechlin is an Indian film actress of French descent who born 10th January 1984 in a small village in Pondicherry. Her father Joel Koechlin came to India from France about 38 years ago and met her mother named Francoise Armandie at the Sri Aurobindo Ashram in Auroville, Tamil Nadu. She studied at Hebron School, Ooty and her parents then insisted she attend university. She studied drama and theatre in Goldsmiths, University of London, where she also worked with a theatre company called Theatre of Relativity for two years. She later decided to move to Mumbai to try her luck in Hindi cinema. She married filmmaker Anurag Kashyap on April 30, 2011, in a private wedding ceremony in Ooty. She started her career by acting in film Dev.D(2009). She won the Best Supporting Actress at the Global Indian Film and TV Awards in 2012 for the role she played in Shaitan (2011).
