Johny Lever

Johny Lever is an Indian actor and comedian. He is one of the most noted comedians in Bollywood films. As a matter of fact, he is one of the highly respected actors of Hindi films. Many critics praise him for his influential contribution to Indian films.

Early Life

Johny Lever was born on August 14, in 1957 in a Telegu family. His family was not so wealthy. He had to stop his school education for earning for his family. He started working in Hindustan Lever Limited where he first showed his acting capability first. Then he performed as a comedian in different musical shows.

Producer Gul Anand first noticed his talent and offered him to act in film ‘Jalwa’. By this, his film career as a comedian started and he appeared in films like ‘Tezaab’, ‘Kasam’, ‘Khatarnak’ in the 80’s. In the 90’s he achieved success by acting in movie ‘Baazigar’ as supporting role cum comedian. After that, he appeared in more than three hundred films as comic characters. Many of his films names became popular for his outstanding acting- like ‘Chotta Chattri’, ‘Aslam Bhai’ and many others.

Besides his career in films, he also appeared in many TV shows. He appeared on Zee TV in his own show ‘Johny Aala Re’. He also appeared as a judge on a reality show named ‘Comedy Circus’.

In personal life, Johny is married to Sujatha. the couple has three children. Their daughter Jamie is also a comedian and mimicry artist. One of their son’s name is Jesse. Johny is a Christian by birth, and he once said that he is a strong believer in God and trinity as he witnessed many of God’s miracles from his childhood days. He also stated that once his day-night prayer saved her daughter’s life from death and it was impossible with the help of the almighty.
