Jeremih Felton , better known by the stage name and mononym Jeremih, is an American recording artist, singer, song writer and rapper. Jeremih’s commercial debut single, ‘Birthday Sex‘ charted ‘number four’ on the US Billboard Hot 100.

Jeremih Felton was born on July 17, 1987 in Chicago, Illinois, USA as Jeremih Felton, into a musical family. Jeremih began playing instruments at the age of three and had the ability of playing drums, piano, bass, squad and saxophone. He learned to play instruments by ear without being able to read notes or having any sort of classical training.

Jeremih was not only an amazing performer but also a student with an excellent academic record. Jeremih attended Morgan Park High School, where he was part of the marching band as well as a Latin jazz band, where he learned to play percussion instruments like congas and timbales. Jeremih studied engineering from the Parkland College. He has a degree in music business from the Columbia College, Chicago.

In 2009, he signed a record deal with Def Jam Recordings. His self-titled debut album reached number six on the US Billboard 200 chart. Jeremih’s success continued with the release of his second album, All About You, led by the single “Down on Me”, which also reached the top five of the Billboard Hot 100. Jeremih cited Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder and R. Kelly as his biggest influences.

Jeremih won the Hip Hop/R&B Song of the Year Award in 2015 for his album, ‘Don’t Tell Em‘ (produced by Schultz and DJ Mustard, and featuring YG).
