Jasmin Walia is a famous English Indian singer, actress, businesswoman, songwriter and television personality. She is known for her work on Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety (2018), Doctors (2000) and Casualty (1986). Jasmin has fast turned renowned in UK press featuring in all UK national newspapers and magazines. Jasmin has a large following on both Twitter and Instagram.

Jasmin Walia first came into limelight with the British reality television show The Only Way Is Essex. She gained popularity with her English-Punjabi single “Dum Dee Dee Dum” (2016). Her English-Punjabi track, “Bom Diggy” (2017) with Zack Knight, featured in the top Indian pop charts.

Jasmin Walia was born on May 23, 1992 Essex, UK. This British TV Actress Jasmin basically from Indian origin, however, she brought up in the U.K. Her family moved to Britain long before. She has a younger brother named Danny Walia, who is a Chigwell-based businessman. Her mother used to call her by the nickname “Sonam“.

Jasmin started singing at the age of 8 and was the first in her family to sing.

Education

Jasmin completed her four A Levels with three As and a B. After that she applied to Cambridge to study philosophy but could not enroll there. Then she did a job as a Customer Adviser in the Natwest Bank. She also attended some ACCA classes to learn an accountancy course for some time and later dropped that course.

Career

In the year of 2010, she got an opportunity to play a role in another Television series “An Office and a Gentleman” in which her acting skills were appreciated.

She became a cast member on The Only Way Is Essex in 2012. She was recently voted Britain’s sexiest Asian in the UK alongside Zayn Malik.

She auditioned for the 11th series of The X Factor UK. She released her debut single “Dum Dee Dum” in 2016.

Jasmin Walia created her own fashion line, Pop by Jasmin, with the product range of lipsticks and beauty accessories.

In November 2017, Walia became a part of the Women of the Future Ambassadors Programme, an initiative of the Women of the Future, in association with Lloyds Banking Group, that connects the ambassadors with school sixth formers, with the objective to “provide students with mentors and role models, thus strengthening the pipeline of talent among Britain’s younger women.”
