Happy Salma

Happy Salma, Indonesian actress, model and writer. She’s known for Buffalo Boys (2018), Rectoverso (2013) and Wiro Sableng 212 (2018). Originally entered the entertainment industry as a model, she later acted in numerous sinetron (Indonesian soap operas) before acting in the movie Gie (2005). Some of her sinetron – Bujangan (Single Man), Kutunggu Cintamu (I Wait for your Love), and Cowok-Cowok Keren (Cool Guys).

Happy Salma was born in Sukabumi, West Java, on 4 January 1980 to Dachlan Suhendra and Iis Rohaeni. She enjoyed writing and reading from an early age. One of her fondest childhood memories occurred when she and her Girl Guide (Pramuka) friends were having a sleepover at their school. Happy Salma grew up in his hometown until the age of 17 years. Happy’s dad arrived at the school on his Vespa in the evening with a home cooked meal (her favorite) – concerned that his daughter had been chatting too much and not eating enough.

Salma originally entered the entertainment industry as a model. Initially Happy was so excited, but then she depressed because it turns out to be a model is not easy. She later appeared in numerous sinetron (Indonesian soap operas), including Bujangan (Single Man), Kutunggu Cintamu (I Wait for your Love), and Cowok-Cowok Keren (Cool Guys). In 2005 she acted in Gie, Indonesia’s official entry for Best Foreign Language Film at the 78th Academy Awards.

Happy Salma married to the prince of Ubud, Bali Tjokorda Bagus Dwi Santana Kertayasa, a photographer. The couple has two children: Tjokorda Sri Kinandari Kerthyasa (b. 2015) and Tjokorda Ngurah Rayidaru Kerthyasa (b. 2018).

In addition to the film, Happy Salma also support the theater called Nyai Ontosoroh directed by Ken Zuraida.
