Doutzen Kroes  is a Dutch Frisian model and actress. She is currently on the top models in the world. She was ranked in the top 5 highest paid models by Forbes in 2014. She is described as “Helen of Troy“. She is currently signed to Victoria’s Secret. She is one of the Victoria’s Secret Angels.

Doutzen Kroes was born on 23 January 1985 in the village of Eastermar, Netherlands.  Her mother was a nurse, then a teacher and her father was a psychotherapist. As a young girl, Doutzen Kroes aspired to be a professional speed skater. She described herself as a “tomboy” in her youth. She never thought about modelling. She was raised in rural Holland.

Doutzen Kroes began her modelling career in 2003 in the Netherlands but quickly got sent by her agency to New York where she was cast, among other names, by lingerie giants Victoria’s Secret. She became an Angel for the brand in 2008. Kroes has been featured on the covers of Time, Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, Seventeen, Elle, Marie Claire, Glamour, W, Avantgarde, Dazed & Confused, and Numéro. Her campaigns include Gucci, Tommy Hilfiger, Versace, Valentino, Blumarine and Calvin Klein. In July 2007, earning at an estimated total of $1.5 million in the previous twelve months, Forbes named her fourteenth in the list of the World’s 15 Top-Earning Supermodels. Kroes is signed by DNA Model Management. On 24 November 2011, Kroes debuted in Nova Zembla the first Dutch 3D movie ever made. Doutzen Kroes has been taking acting classes in New York City for several years. She has stated in interviews that she plans to act in more movies to come.

In 2009 Doutzen Kroes started dating Dutch DJ Sunnery James Gorré.  On 7 November 2010, she and Sunnery James married in Amsterdam. The couple have 2 kids. They live between New York and Amsterdam. She wants her daughter to be something other than model. She says girls should be taught they can be presidents and its not about beauty all the time.
