Christopher Nolan

Christopher Nolan, born on July 30, 1970, in London town. He is an innovative film director and screenwriter. His parents Brendan Nolan, an advertising copywriter and Christina Nolan, an American flight attendant. He is British – American citizen. Firstly, he spent his childhood in London and Chicago. Firstly, he was interested in botany at his childhood. But after he finds his father’s camera, soon he became obsessed with it. After playing with his father’s Super 8 camera he became familiar with it. When he was only 7 years old, he made his first film with this camera. He ended his English study at University College of London. Then he chooses the college to study film-making. After that, in 1993, he graduated with the degree of film-making.

Christopher Nolan made his first feature film in 1998, ‘Following’. The film’s budget was only three thousand pounds. The film’s scriptwriter was also Nolan. Moreover, he was the editor and photographer of this film. After that, in 1998, the San Francisco Film festival showed the movie. After that, he came to the light. In 2000, with the film, “Memento” Nolan earned a global recognition.

Then in 2008, he directed another blockbuster movie called The Dark Knight starring Christian Bale. Then in 2012, he made the sequel The Dark night Rises, featuring Christian Bale and Gary Oldman. After that, in 2013 he produced Man of steel. He also produced the 2014 film Transcendence. Then he directed another blockbuster sci-fi drama called Interstellar (2014). It was a masterpiece considering both its scientific and dramatic value.

Nolan married Emma Thomas in 1997. Together they also produced four children.
