Christoph Waltz is a famous German TV and film actor. He appeared in many German and American TV serials and films. Though he was famous in Europe before, he achieved worldwide popularity through his outstanding acting as a multilingual Nazi Colonel in 2006 film Inglorious Basterds.

Christoph Waltz born on 4 October in 1956 in Vienna, Austria. He was lucky because of having a stage and acting related family. His parents were set designers and grandparents were actors. He started acting when he was a teenager. Waltz studied in Vienna at the University of Music and Performing Arts. He went to New York to learn method acting in the 1970’s.

Waltz first appeared in several stage dramas and miniseries. He appeared in British miniseries ‘The Gravy Train’ and ‘The Gravy train Goes East’ in the 1980’s. He earned huge success by acting in ‘Leben Fur Leben’ as Father Maximilian Kolbe in 1991. In 1998 he appeared in ‘Love Scenes From Planet Earth’. He was famous for his anti-hero roles in German crime serials before starting his film career.

Waltz became an international superstar overnight when his appearance In 2009 film ‘Inglorious Basterds’ became an outstanding work of acting. Director Tarantino was searching for a perfect actor who can play successfully the role of Colonel Hans Landa who was a multilingual, good looking, friendly and deadly Nazi personal. Waltz’s accuracy in English, French, German and Italian also helped him to appear in this role. Many critics said that nobody could have achieved success in this role except Waltz. However, he won worldwide recognition for his outstanding performance in ‘Inglorious Basterds’. He achieved Golden Globe Award and Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor.

Christoph Waltz then appeared in ‘The Green Hornet’ and ‘Water for Elephants’ in 2011. But the year 2012 brought him another huge success as he appeared in one more Tarantino film ‘Django Unchained’ as a dentist-come-bounty hunter. He presented his another outstanding work of acting which brought him an academy award once more.

In 2014 Waltz appeared in comedy films like ‘Muppets Most Wanted’ and ‘Horrible Bosses 2’. He got Golden Globe nomination for his appearance in ‘Big Eyes’.
