Ariana Grande

Ariana Grande-Butera, known professionally as Ariana Grande, is an American singer, lyricist and actress. She began her career as a soloist with various symphonies, such as the South Florida Philharmonic. She made her acting debut as Charlotte in the Broadway musical 13 in 2008, before landing the role of Cat Valentine on the Nickelodeon television series Victorious in 2009. Became a pop star after her debut album Yours Truly achieved widespread success in 2013. She then followed up with the similarly popular album My Everything, which featured the hit singles “Break Free” and “Problem.” She first gained fame as an actress, portraying Cat Valentine on the Nickelodeon series Victorious as well as on the show’s spin-off Sam and Cat.

Ariana Grande-Butera was born on June 26, 1993 in Boca Raton, Florida, to Joan Grande, the chief executive officer of Hose-McCann Communications, a telephone and alarm system company, and Edward Butera, who owns a graphic design firm in Boca Raton. Her name was originally inspired by Princess Oriana from Felix the Cat (1959). Grande is of Italian descent. She has an older half-brother, Frankie Grande, who is an actor, dancer and producer. and she is close with her maternal grandmother, Marjorie Grande. She was also very close with her grandfather Frank who passed away in 2014. Grande’s family moved from New York to Florida when her mother was pregnant with Grande, and her parents separated when she was around 8 or 9 years old.

She began dating Nathan Sykes, a member of The Wanted, in September 2013. The couple separated a few months later. In 2014, she had a fairly public relationship with web video star Jai Brooks, then dated rapper Big Sean until April 2015. She then began dating her backup dancer Ricky Alvarez.

Ariana is most famous for her role in Victorious (2010) as “Cat Valentine” and she now has her own Nickelodeon sitcom, with Jennette McCurdy, called Sam & Cat (2013), which is a crossover of two characters from Victorious (2010) (Cat Valentine) and iCarly (2007) (Sam Puckett). She’s made music videos for some of her own songs, “Put Your Hearts Up”, “The Way”, “Baby I”, “Right There” and “Popular Song ft. MIKA”.
