Actress Angourie Rice

Angourie Rice is an Australian actress. She began her career as a child actress, coming to attention for her roles in These Final Hours and The Nice Guys. She is best known for her portrayal of Betty Brant in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and has appeared in Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017) and Spider-Man: Far From Home (2019), and is set to reprise the role in Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021).

Early Life

Rice was named after a town in New South Wales where her grandmother lived. She was born in Sydney and lives in Melbourne, with her parents Jeremy Rice, a director, and Kate Rice, a writer, where she attended Princes Hill Secondary College graduating in 2018. She also lived in Perth for five years and in Munich, Germany, for one year before moving back to Melbourne.

Career

She made her debut in 2013 by appearing in the cast of These Final Hours, an apocalyptic thriller written and directed by Zak Hilditch. The same year, she made an appearance for the live sequences of the animated film In the land of the dinosaurs.

In 2015, she appeared in the series The Doctor Blake Mysteries, Worst Year of My Life Again, and Mako: Island of Secrets.

In 2016, she was part of the cast of the science fiction film Nowhere Boys: The Book of Shadows. Then the same year, she appeared in the cast of Shane Black’s film The Nice Guys alongside Ryan Gosling and Russell Crowe.

Then, starting July 2016, it is announced that she will be in the cast of the next Spider-Man 8. She will play Betty Brant in the 2017 Spider-Man: Homecoming movie. She reprised that role, this time in a more meaningful role, in the 2019 Spider-Man: Far From Home sequel.
